SUZUKI REVEALS KIZASHI ECOCHARGE CONCEPT AT 2011 NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW
nnovative Gas-Electric Concept Leads Automaker's Ú.S. Advanced Propulsion Strategy
NEW YORK (April 19, 2011) – American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) unveiled a gas-electric concept variant of its Kizashi sedan at the company's 2011 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) press conference this evening. With the moniker Kizashi EcoCharge Concept, this innovative and eye-catching four-door further illustrates Suzuki's global eco-mobility story, and accentuates the company's effort in socially-conscious motoring.
'We are continuing to study the virtues of the gas-electric technology found in the Kizashi EcoCharge Concept,' said Steve Younan, director of automotive marketing and product planning for American Suzuki Motor Corporation. 'Our basic concept was to attain substantial gains in fuel economy without the traditional sacrifices in drivability required wîth today's mid-size hybrid sedans. The proof of our concept is that the Kizashi EcoCharge has the capability to deliver a 25 percent fuel economy gain in real-world driving through an electric charge to the powertrain system while still retaining the production Kizashi's dynamic handling and braking advantages that make it a standout category performer.'

Pictures - 2012 Buick Verano
The all-new Buick Verano is a compact car that finds its roots in the European Opel Astra, which coincidentally also underpins the new Chevrolet Cruze, but for Buick the car will come with a bit more luxury and find itself competing in the near-luxury segment.
Following Buick’s current design language, the Verano features a sculpted design with a familiar Buick face. Of course a waterfall grille is front and center, flanked by blue translucent projector beam headlamps not unlike the units used on the larger Regal. Historically accurate hood-mounted porthole vents complete the Verano’s front end.
A steeply-raked windshield and fast-sloping rear pillars are intended to give the Verano a decidedly sporty look, culminating in a rear end that is fairly unique within the Buick lineup. However, some might not agree with Buick’s decision to use chrome accents on the rear taillights. The Verano is about six inches shorter overall than the Regal.
The Verano’s interior carries over the theme of luxury and sport, featuring a dash and center stack that is familiar within the Buick family. The Verano is available with a number of luxury features, including a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, touch screen navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.
Despite its entry-level designation, Buick engineers have gone to great lengths to ensure the Verano’s cabin is as quiet as possible - a detail often associated with luxury. The Verano is fitted with details like hydraulic ride bushings, a five-layer headliner, triple sealed doors and 4.85-mm laminated glass to keep as much noise out of the cabin as possible.
Interior features include remote start, electronic e-brake, power windows and locks, steering wheel-mounted radio controls, automatic climate control, fabric-wrapped A-pillars and available push-button start/stop, heated steering wheel and leather seating.
Power for the Verano is supplied by the same 2.4-liter engine used in the slightly larger Regal, generating 177 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. Shifting through a six-speed transmission – both manual and automatic gearboxes are on offer.
However, some buyers in the compact segment may be let down by the Verano’s fuel economy ratings of 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

Hyundai i40 Tourer UK Version
The anticipated all-new Hyundai i40 Tourer is on sale in the UK from September 8, 2011. Prices will start from £18,395 on the road with insurance from Group 12E; and will offer customers a high level of standard specification coupled with competitive cost of ownership. Also, with the lowest 'Benefit in Kind' (BIK) cost in class, the Hyundai i40 range is an attractive alternative for company car drivers.
Tony Whitehorn, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor UK says: "The all-new i40 Tourer is a stylish yet uncompromised addition to the medium family estate car market. It offers exceptionally low CO2 emissions and high fuel economy; an intuitive, spacious and contemporary interior package combined with an unparalleled level of standard equipment for its class - all at an accessible price."
He continues: "The i40 is a sign of how far Hyundai has come in recent years, and truly embodies where the Brand is going. We believe that it offers a unique, value for money, customer proposition in this highly competitive market segment."
The Hyundai i40 Tourer is available in three main trim levels (Active, Style and Premium) with the choice of three efficient engines, four power outputs and manual or automatic transmission. Hyundai's Blue Drive technologies - incorporating Intelligent Stop & Go technology - are fitted as standard on all Active derivatives, and on the Style 1.7 CRDi 136PS Blue Drive model ensuring CO2 emissions of 119 g/km and without compromising on performance.
Standard features, which set the Hyundai i40 Tourer apart from other competitor offerings, are 16" alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition, leather steering wheel with audio controls, electric heated door mirrors with integrated LED indicators, electric front and rear windows and electric parking brake with automatic hold function.
Touch screen satellite navigation with rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control and dual zone climate control are standard on the mid-point 'Style' range.
The Premium models benefit further from the addition of leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and supervision instrument cluster with LCD colour display as standard, plus the choice of three option packages - Vision, Comfort and Assist which include the following features: Lane Departure Warning and Smart Parking Assist, heated leather steering wheel, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats and xenon headlamps with Adaptive Front Lighting System.
Designed and engineered at the company's European R&D headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the Hyundai i40 Tourer will be joined by a four-door saloon later this year. Both will be produced at Hyundai's Ulsan manufacturing facility in Korea. Prices for the saloon will be subject to a further announcement.
All Hyundai i40 models will be supported by Hyundai's industry-best, fully transparent Five Year Triple Care assurance. This package offers five-year unlimited warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five years of vehicle health checks.
